Workshops 2011

We have two basic workshops designed to meet the needs of beginners. Workshops 1 and 2 are run on Tuesdays and Sundays from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. They are set 2 hour sessions and cost £15.00 plus materials. seats must be booked in advance.

Beginners Workshop 1 - Turned Loops and Wrapped Loops

This is an essential workshop for beginners. Instruction of basic findings & cords will be given. You will be shown how to wire beads on head pins and eye pins making turned loops. This technique will enable you make beautiful jewellery and create a pendant from any bead. Learning how to curl proficiently can be used to good advantage in a variety of ways. In this session you will master this technique and we will look at how this skill can be used to create, necklaces, key-rings, handbag charms, charm bracelets and lariats.

Beginners Workshop 2 - Crimping

Learn how to use plastic coated wire, one of the most versatile cords available. It is one of the thinnest but strongest beading cords and knowing how to crimp successfully opens up a whole new dimension to beading. We will explore the many uses of tigertail such as making single and multi corded necklaces, bracelets, bag charms and phone charms.

NEW FOR 2011

New for 2011 is a range of “I want to make that” projects.

Many of our customers that have mastered the basics from attending our beginners workshops express a desire to continue coming in to make use of our tables and facilities to try out new ideas. With this in mind we have designed a range of projects which vary in complexity and cost to inspire you.
There are no set workshop times for these projects, you simply choose which one you fancy and book the appropriate amount of time at a time to suit you. Assistance is given and you pay just £2.00 per hour plus the cost of materials.
