Below you will see the set workshops available. If you simply want to come and make items on the project table, please book a seat, the cost is £2.50 per hour per person.

Basics Workshops

1. Earrings, Pendants & Necklaces -
This is an essential workshop for beginners. Instruction of basic findings & cords will be given. You will be shown how to wire beads on head pins and eye pins making turned loops. This technique will enable you make beautiful jewellery and create a pendant from any bead. Learning how to curl proficiently can be used to good advantage in a variety of ways. In this session you will master this technique and we will look at how this skill can be used to create, necklaces, key-rings, handbag charms, charm bracelets and lariats.

2. Tigertail - Learn how to use plastic coated wire, one of the most versatile cords available. It is one of the thinnest but strongest beading cords and knowing how to crimp successfully opens up a whole new dimension to beading. We will explore the many uses of tigertail such as making single and multi corded necklaces, bracelets, bag charms and phone charms.

3. Leather & Waxed Cord – We will look at what can be achieved with leather and waxed cord and how using knots can reduce the number of beads required but give the impression of lots! With outstanding simplicity stunning necklaces with a big wow factor can be made inexpensively. Learn how to make multi corded necklaces. Develop an understanding of when and why other findings are used to finish work, for example how and when to use spring crimps, suede crimps to give a more professional finish.

4. Wire Work – Learning how to make wrapped loops is particularly useful and decorating beads with wire can transform quite an ordinary bead into a stunner. During this workshop you will learn what it is to create a truly original work of art by making your own chains, links and findings.

Beading Group Special Workshops

Once you have mastered the basic skills from the beginner’s workshops you may find that you really miss the sociable atmosphere of a friendly group all working together. With this in mind special workshops will be put together to explore other more involved work. I will obviously provide ideas and tuition where needed but would very much like to involve you and your ideas providing an opportunity for others to share their knowledge and enjoyment in beading. Please ask what special workshops are coming up.

Please note workshops are 2 hours each session. Cost per session is £10.00.

Places must be prepaid and are allocated on a first come first served basis.

The cost for each session includes instruction, demonstration and use of workshop. Materials are not included
